Greek Food and Mediterranean Diet

The research is clear:  the Mediterranean diet is by far the best in promoting healthy cardiovascular functioning and even cognitive acumen.  In this workshop, we will delve deeper into the specifics of the Greek/Mediterranean diet and what specifically contributes to its many overall health benefits. The islands of Greece are “blue zones” places in the world where 1 in 3 adults live beyond 100, some as late as 120!

This workshop will include: 

-an up-to-date presentation about the benefits of the Mediterranean diet

-specific foods, nutrients and techniques that promote good health

-live food demonstrations for preparing common Greek dishes including stuffed grape leaves, stuffed vegetables, broiled fish in the lemon/oregano olive oil marinade, lemon potatoes

-a recipe book with easy-to-make dishes

-OF COURSE–samplings of healthy vegetable-based appetizers with homemade wine and bread.
